Circle of Independent Learning (COIL) is a personalized independent learning K-12 public charter school. COIL’s mission is to provide a “circle of learning” where the student, parent, advisory teacher, and support staff work together to address the needs of each student. We strive to reach the unique bent of genius in EVERY child.
COIL is named one of California's 2023 Distinguished Schools! We are so proud of our students, staff, families, and community for supporting COIL and helping each student strive to achieve their individual goals. Read more:https://www.cde.ca.gov/nr/ne/yr23/yr23rel01.asp.

UPCOMING INFORMATION MEETING
COIL will be holding a series of Parent/Student Information Meetings (What is COIL?) each Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. Please plan on one hour as there is a lot of information and allow time for questions. Please click on the following link to register. You will be able to select the specific registration date from a drop-down box.
We hold meetings often throughout the school year, so please check back for updates.
Submission of the Interest Form or attending an information meeting does not mean placement at COIL. Please be aware that enrollment is dependent upon space being available and the completion of all registration materials. If space is not currently available, you have the option of being placed on a waiting list until an opening becomes available. Find more information about enrollment here.
COIL's regular Governance Council Meetings are held every 3rd Tuesday except June. Refer to the following link for dates and times:
COIL adheres to FUSD's COVID-19 protocols as we are located on an FUSD campus.
COIL & FUSD appreciates our community’s continued support in limiting the spread of COVID-19 in our schools and facilities. The following protocols will be in place for 2022-23:
Parents/Guardians must review the student health screener before a student enters COIL/FUSD facilities, events, or District-operated vehicles.
Keep students home while sick! Report student absences for symptoms and/or positive test results to COIL's school office.
