I began teaching at COIL in 2010, after homeschooling my own two children through their elementary and high school years. I can't think of a better way to educate a child, than to develop the "unique bent of genius" in each of them.
 
I enjoy bringing an international perspective to my teaching since I have lived in Austria, Germany and Canada before moving to the United States in 1999. I completed a B.A., B. Ed., and TESOL certification in British Columbia, Canada. I hold a California Single Subject Teaching Credential in English, GATE certification and English Learner Authorization. I am also VPSS certified, which allows me to teach other core subjects, such as Mathematics and Science, at COIL.
